Class Experience
We begin each class with music and a group activity to encourage socialization and get kids warmed up. Then, we’ll head into our fenced play space for unstructured play and exploration. Some activities include:
- mud kitchen
- obstacle course
- water play
- sensory tables
- discovery zones
- and more!

Wild Roots is a welcoming and inclusive nature-based outdoor playgroup that invites all children to connect with nature and embrace the joys of outdoor exploration. Emphasizing child-led play in a natural setting, Wild Roots encourages children from all backgrounds and abilities to discover the wonders of the earth firsthand. Wild Roots is a lively arena for children to engage with nature, build with natural materials, and let their imaginations flourish. We provide a safe and nurturing space for children to climb, dig, run, and jump, while developing physical skills, expanding their imaginations, and building social connections.
By encouraging kids to get their hands dirty and their feet wet, we are not only creating fun learning opportunities but also planting the seeds of respect and care for our planet in the hearts of our young members. Classes take place year-round and in all weather, rain, snow, or sun, as long as the “RealFeel” or “Feels Like” temperature is between ~20 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit. Class will be canceled if dangerous weather conditions are forecasted. *Please check your email before each class in case of rescheduling due to inclement weather.*

Class Requirements
- Recommended for ages 1 - 7 years.
- If you have kids outside of this age range, you are welcome to join our classes to judge if they are appropriate for your children. Since our classes are mixed ages, it might be best if your little one can stand and play on their own a bit.
Other Things To Know
Email us at hello@WildRootsNY.com at least 2 hours before the class begins if you are not able to attend. You will be able to attend a make-up class in the same semester, when available. Refunds given with 7 days cancellation notice.
