Class Experience
In this exploratory painting workshop, we will work through the process of creating narrative images. Using exercises including writing, collage, sketching, and photography we will gather material. Prompts will help participants think through how to use this material in unexpected ways to tell a story that is meaningful to them. After developing imagery through these exercises, we will create paintings based on our own narratives. Paintings will be done in gouache, and we will consider scale, color palette and paint application all as elements that can be useful to further narrative. Whether you love storytelling or just wish to try a different way of developing your imagery, come ready to explore, discover, and have fun.
