Class Experience
"Turn real-world wildfire challenges into AI-powered Scratch games! Detect and extinguish fires with drones, plant trees, and score points in an interactive adventure."
Prerequisites:
- No prior coding experience required
- Basic computer skills (using a mouse, keyboard, and web browser)
- Interest in storytelling, art, or game creation
- Access to a computer with internet connection and Zoom
AI Tools
Students will use ChatGPT to help design game logic, DALL-E to generate custom artwork for their projects, Google Teachable Machine to create custom AI models for their games (like gesture recognition and image classification), and compare AI-generated stories with human creativity using Scratch's storytelling capabilities.
Key Benefits
Boost critical thinking skills, develop problem-solving abilities, and experience the excitement of creating creative environmental solutions with technology. Students learn to critically evaluate AI vs. human-created designs and stories(DALL-e created sprites vs. hand drawn sprites).

Loved:
Coach Brian was amazingly patient with my girls. He truly sparked an interest as both girls spend days after the class finished on updating their projects. Coach Brian was also patient, and skilled a correcting the girls were they getting something incorrect in a gentle fashion. Coach Brian also spent extra time with the girls at almost every session- over and above,
Improvements:
Nothing.
