GrupoPLAY Bilingual Family Playdate - Miami, FL

GrupoPLAY by Bilingüitos is a bilingual playgroup that hosts regular playdates for Spanish-speaking / bilingual families* in Miami, FL area. (Once registered, you'll get exact location details in our WhatsApp group chat - linked in confirmation email.)

Usamos estos playdates para mostrarles a nuestros hijos el español en un contexto más amplio; fuera del hogar y del salón de clase. Nuestros niños podrán ver que el español no solo es una lengua "de mami y papi," o algo que aprenden en la escuela, sino un hermoso idioma que se usa en muchas comunidades, incluso por otros niños bilingües!

During these playdates, adults model peer-to-peer Spanish conversation, children bond over finding language commonalities, and overall, bilingualism is normalized and ultimately celebrated. Kids’ perspectives will shift as they begin to see the incredible value of being bilingual — when they see it as a superpower. At the end of the day, the true mission of GrupoPLAY is to unify the bilingual community and to equip families to cultivate and celebrate bilingualism in their own circles of influence. All ages welcome :) 

Please note this is not a class; this is a volunteer-led playgroup is for already-bilingual families to have an opportunity to use their Spanish together. GrupoPLAY relies on everyone's participation to create an immersion environment for our bilingüitos. We aim to stay in Spanish during these play dates as much as possible. So please be prepared to maintain conversations in Spanish at the level you are able to, both among adults and adults to children (though it’s completely fine if you’re not fully fluent!).

>>If you can't make every meet-up, that is absolutely fine! But we do encourage you to put this on your calendar and make it a priority to attend as much as you can.
