Class Experience
In this class, children will paint and use collage to capture the wonder of Spring in both 2D and 3D artwork. We’ll have lots of fun developing ideas and adding lots and lots of magic!
Calling all master builders! Young imaginative adventurers work with a variety of media to create exciting works on cool weekly themes set by your instructor. This class is perfect for kids who love camp projects and like to use their imaginations as fuel. This exploratory class keeps young minds engaged & inspired while encouraging creative development and awareness of the world around them. Emerging artists are encouraged to make their own choices, explore their own ideas and instincts and problem solve while engineering their creations!
Sample Class Format
- Work on Spring project each week!
- Learn to use paint to its full potential, learn color mixing and amazing brushwork application techniques.
- Explore mixed media like collage, wool, fabric, and writing
- Use nontraditional materials: recycled + found object art (open your mind to the possibilities): papers, magazines, wool, wires, old toy parts, subway cards (anything you can think of!)
- Work small or big BIG BIG!
- Students are also welcome to bring in things from home like old photos or household things that spark interest to use in their work.
- Create uniquely personal finished pieces of art.

Improvements:
I enrolled my kids thinking that the studio would provide some kind of instruction or prompt or special idea with materials but it was really just more of an "open studio" type of situation and while it was pleasant for them, not worth the $100.

They said it was slow starting in the morning but it more than made up for the late start by the end of the day they are excited to return to the program

Wonderful introduction to basic principles of drawing. Reed synthesized the material in a way easy to understand, and was encouraging and supportive. The atmosphere of the studio is both stimulating and relaxing. I learned so much during the semester.

I joined my son to do the past Sunday classes with the beginning illustrated art class on Sunday at 11 o’clock. He told me that he enjoyed it and want to do more classes , so l’ll be continue with those classes regularly on a Sunday. At this time, nothing. Maybe in the future you can add one of your programs and Staten Island New York. I know many of individuals would love joining your art program.
