Class Experience

Welcome to Dungeons and Drama, where creativity meets adventure! Our unique acting camp combines the excitement of improv with the thrilling world of Dungeons and Dragons. Here, young performers embark on a journey using the tools of live action role playing.

Our campers will learn the art of improvisation while navigating epic quests, mysterious dungeons, and encountering mythical creatures. Students will build all new characters for their adventures using D&D character sheets and use interactive gameplay using classic 20 sided dice to hone their acting skills, build confidence, and unleash their inner heroes. Join us for a summer of magic, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT your standard Dungeons & Dragons game!

  • All participants will create new characters exclusively for this experience
  • Scenes will be physically acted out through live-action roleplay (LARP)
  • We use simplified D&D rules accessible to players of all experience levels
  • The focus is on dramatic storytelling and character development rather than complex game mechanics

Whether you're a D&D veteran or have never rolled a d20 in your life, our program creates an inclusive environment where acting skills take precedence over game knowledge.

Loved:

I really enjoyed this workshop! It was interesting to watch the auditions and hear the adjustments from both coaches. And then having “callbacks” on the second day and incorporating what we learned to make our auditions better. Both coaches had positive constructive criticism and were very encouraging to everyone. It was a very positive environment and a very complete training experience. I feel like I am already a better actor for attending this workshop. Thank you! Sincerely, Nancy Cole

Improvements:

Can’t think of any improvements, the set up was very professional and the videotaped auditions all looked and sounded good!

I absolutely loved this class and the opportunity to hear the questions from the participants and answers plus more from Shelby Cherniat. It was an awesome online opportunity provided by Vagabond Through this class, I have a better understanding of the casting process both in LA and locally.

Improvements:

The only improvement I would like is to have more online opportunities from Vagabond
