Class Experience

Join MODA for a virtual Afterschool Studio and design a sustainable future!

In this virtual studio, young designers will explore the principles of sustainability while creating an eco-friendly village in Minecraft. From renewable energy sources to sustainable farming and green spaces, participants will learn how design can positively impact the environment. The session will begin with an introduction to eco-conscious building techniques, followed by hands-on time to construct environmentally friendly structures. At the end of the studio, students can share their creations.

In this Afterschool Studio, we’ll:

  • Practice using Minecraft’s tools to design eco-friendly villages.
  • Learn techniques for incorporating renewable energy, sustainable farming, and green spaces.
  • Explore real-world examples of sustainable architecture and urban planning.
  • Transform ideas into a Minecraft world.
  • Provide a space to share and provide constructive feedback
  • Practice collaboration, inclusivity, creative courage, imaginative problem-solving, storytelling, and critical thinking

Kids really liked the class.

Improvements:

More information on sustainability. Incorporate it in Minecraft. A lot of silence in the session. Also, the instructor was very new to Minecraft and these kiddos have been playing for a a few years.
