Class Experience

Tween Bakeshop is a creative space for tween bakers to explore many techniques and recipes. Each week we tackle a new project with lots of room to be creative while learning the fundamentals of measuring, mixing, reading recipes, and occasionally advanced techniques. Each baker will take home their baking project to enjoy.

APRIL

Millionaire Bars

Kids will have a blast creating this irresistibly rich layered dessert bar! Along the way, they'll master the art of making shortbread, caramel, and chocolate ganache.

Churros

Our kid-friendly churros are baked and coated in crisp cinnamon sugar. It’s a great way to introduce young bakers to classic pâte à choux pastry!

Lemon Pound Cake

Fresh lemon desserts are perfect for springtime, and kids will love the tender crumb and bright citrus flavor of our lemon pound cake!

Morning Glory Muffins

Morning Glory muffins are hearty and flavorful, packed with shredded carrots, apples, and warm spices—perfect for a wholesome and delicious homemade treat.

MAY

Strawberry Lemon Checkerboard Cookies

For these fun cookies, kids learn about flavoring and shaping shortbread dough! We will use both freeze-dried strawberry powder and lemon zest.

Bagels

This class is full of bread making techniques! We will knead, shape, boil, and bake a batch of chewy bagels.

Chocolate Mini Bundt Cake

We'll bake a rich and moist chocolate bundt cake, learning essential techniques for mixing, baking, and finishing with a glossy chocolate glaze.

Cherry Cobbler

We will welcome summer in our last week of class with a cherry cobbler! Kids will learn an easy technique for pitting cherries with a chopstick, too.

Loved:

My daughter and her friend attended and they seemed to love it! Cake pops are always a great idea, they loved making those!

Improvements:

I think the age range is too large. When 10-11 year olds are doing the same activity with 4-5 year olds it really changes the dynamic. I think they would enjoy it more if the time was structured more to their age group.

Loved:

Student "That I got to play with some kids and I liked making the frosting for the churro donuts." Mom: Sign up and drop off/pick up were super easy. We feel super safe sending our kid for the day. It's a great day off option in the neighborhood.

Improvements:

Nothing at this time!
