Class Experience
Capoeira provides physical fitness for children, ages 4 and up. It is intended to be a no- to low-contact martial art that helps children with gross motor planning and gross motor skills. Children must be inBarro Vermelho’s official uniform by the second class, which may be purchased at the academy or on line in the Square Market. Children will also learn maculele (a dance done hitting sticks against your partner’s sticks), samba, capoeira instruments, and Portuguese through this fun, interactive class. Participants must pre-register for a session.
Notes
Caregivers may drop their children off and pick up at the end of class. If desired, they may observe classes from outside the facility. Adults may not remain in the room during class.
Other Things To Know
Classes and sessions are non-refundable, but we are happy to schedule you for a different class or session.

Mestre Bomba brings a lot of energy, enthusiasm and smiles to the class. He does a lot in 45-50 minute class including warm ups, movement routines, singing, and playing instruments. He works non stop and he maintains his enthusiasm and love of learning throughout. My son has been going to his classes for nearly two years and his capoeira has improved, he loves singing, has learned a little Portuguese and he has made some very good friendships. He loves his capoeira class.
Improvements:
I have absolutely not a single suggestion for class improvements.

The instructor was great. The kids loved it. I love that this will help the kids grow, learn discipline, learn capoeira and culture.
Improvements:
Since our kids are exposed to English and Spanish, I would enjoy it if the teacher continued to give more and more instructions in Portuguese.
