Class Experience
This 8-week course includes 8 weekly 1-hour classes taught online with live instruction via Skype or Zoom by Elysa and/or Jason Hochman of the Quarantined Quartet, who are also the founders of the New York Guitar Academy.
Designed for students who already have basic right- and left-hand techniques, this course focuses on learning classical and flamenco guitar through songs. Students will practice and refine right-hand techniques such as arpeggio, picado, pulgar, rasgueo, tremolo, and golpe while exploring a variety of musical styles.
You will learn to play waltzes, rumbas, milongas, tangos, bulerías, and other styles for both classical and flamenco guitar. All classes are recorded for students to use as a practice tool. Sheet music and tablature are provided for all music taught in the course.
Notes
This is an online class. It is currently scheduled to be taught via Skype to allow ease of recording and messaging for all students, teachers and parents. If you do not have Skype we can easily change the format to be Zoom or Google Hangouts upon your request.
How To Participate
Attend class via Zoom video
This class will be hosted on Zoom video conferencing platform. You will receive an email 30 minutes before class starts with a link to the class and access instructions. We recommend you make sure your device is up to date and meets all system requirements before class.

About New York Guitar Academy
New York Guitar Academy's guitar program offers small group classes and private lessons in a wide range of styles for the acoustic, classical and electric guitar. We offer classes for kids, teens and adults. We introduce students to all different styles of music, allowing them to get a well-rounded sense of the many ways to play the guitar.
