Class Experience
This class will cover advanced-level Flamenco and Classical Guitar songs. A thorough knowledge of Flamenco and Classical Guitar techniques is required. Students will learn how to reach an advanced level by studying pieces by artists such as Isaac Albéniz, Francisco Tárrega, Jorge Cardoso, Antonio Lauro, Sabicas, Paco de Lucía, Paco Peña, Juan Serrano, Juan Martín, and others. For each song taught in class, students will receive a score with music notation, a score with tablature, and slow instructional videos. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to perform at our student recital.
This course is taught online with live instruction via Skype or Zoom by Elysa and/or Jason Hochman of the Quarantined Quartet, who are also the founders of the New York Guitar Academy.

This class will be hosted on Zoom video conferencing platform. You will receive an email 30 minutes before class starts with a link to the class and access instructions. We recommend you make sure your device is up to date and meets all system requirements before class.

Flexibility to sign up for blocks of lessons or ad hoc sessions, I.e. no annual or ongoing commitment. I appreciate this is not ideal for the school/instructor but it allows me to learn at my pace - otherwise I wouldn’t sign up at all! Thanks you… I’m impressed at how well the group class is instructed online. The instructor doesn’t seem to miss much!

New York Guitar Academy's guitar program offers small group classes and private lessons in a wide range of styles for the acoustic, classical and electric guitar. We offer classes for kids, teens and adults. We introduce students to all different styles of music, allowing them to get a well-rounded sense of the many ways to play the guitar. Students are given opportunities to perform, build repertoire and become a confident guitarist.
