After School Enrichment Program

Figment’s After School Enrichment Program offers a variety of opportunities for your child to engage in creative play and critical thinking through process art, tinkering and STEAM-centric projects. 

For the Fall 2024/Spring 2025, the following schools are eligible for shuttle, pending interest:

Mills Elementary, Boone Elementary, Baranoff Elementary, Cowan Elementary, Headwaters, and Mariposa Montessori
You will pay the first month's tuition to enroll. 
Our program runs Monday through Friday, from 3:30 to 5:30PM. Upon arrival each afternoon, we bring our water bottles and packed snacks outside for snack and playtime. We provide snacks if needed! After playtime, we go to the Discovery Lab or the Art Studio, where kids explore a teacher-guided project, work on their own self-guided project, and play with our art and building supplies. 

This program integrates all the concepts we believe in at Figment: S.T.E.A.M. principles, maker mentality, process art and play-based learning. 

S.T.E.A.M. 

Heard of STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math)? We believe that adding Art to the equation increases interest and fosters creativity. Because of this hands-on approach to learning, kids get excited about learning and working together as a team. 

PROCESS ART 

We believe the process of making art is more important than the outcome. As such, adults are there to guide children by providing the right materials, teach technique and assist along the way. When children take charge of their own creative process, they practice critical thinking, make their own decisions and build confidence. As our artists get older and more interested in new mediums and techniques, we work on skill-building. 

MAKER MENTALITY 

Our dedicated Maker Space expands on the foundation of STEAM. Students learn through hands-on, often collaborative projects. This project-based approach builds your maker’s confidence and encourages analytic problem-solving. 

PLAY-BASED LEARNING 

Part of our child-directed philosophy is play-based learning. Play is the basis of experimental learning and the Discovery Lab offers something to engage everyone. It’s a place where your child can be anything, a fashion designer, an engineer, a scientist. They can also just grab a book or play a game with friends.

Figment Creative Labs is located at 7809 Brodie Lane, Austin, TX 78745. Our parking lot and main entrance are located at the side of the property, just off Elija Street. If your child is going to miss a scheduled visit to Figment, please call or email us to let us know.

Our facility is PEANUT FREE.

Refund Policy:
A registration fee of $30 per family is non-refundable/non-transferable and is included in the first month’s tuition. Refunds, prorates, and/or credits for monthly tuition are NOT issued under the following circumstances:
-Your child is absent
-An unexpected school closure announced by your district.
-Figment is closed due to a national holiday or school break, in correlation with AISD.
-An unexpected school closure due to weather, emergency or natural disaster, including temporary closures due to COVID, tuition for that month will not be refunded or discounted.
-Your child is required to sit out of the program to quarantine
Cancellation Policy:
We require a notice of 10 business days, prior to your child’s last day at Figment Creative Labs.
