Class Experience
Enrollment is always open! Jump in at any time!
Dive into the learning process of making wheel-thrown pottery. Class participants will learn vocabulary terms that submerge them into understanding ceramics while getting to put those words into action. Students will make vessels of different shapes and sizes starting with shallow bowls and from there going up in height and out in width. Enjoy lots of practice that build up to making pieces you are proud to glaze and take home to your family and friends.
One 25 lb bag of clay is included in the class fee. Additional bags of clay available for $20. All other supplies and tools are included in class cost.

Please note: Class will be canceled if no students show up after 15 minutes past start time.
Class Requirements
- Wear clothes that can get dirty and that you can comfortably sit at the potters wheel. Pants or shorts are recommended

Travis is a great teacher, always interested in his students’ success. He’s very engaged with each student, at their own level, throughout the class, and gives inspiring demonstrations, often cutting his pieces in half for students to observe how the pottery should be built.
Improvements:
It would be amazing if we had two kilns in the studio - one for low fire, and one for stoneware. (But the glazes that are provided often look like high fire glazes, so that definitely is a plus!)
