Class Experience

This is a Montessori-based program designed for toddlers and preschoolers. (Recommended 1,5 years to 3 years)  It supports and stimulates your child's early development and school readiness. We use a variety of authentic Montessori materials, techniques, methods, and approaches as we encourage your child's growth in a fun and engaging learning environment. In this program, we follow four primary areas that provide the foundation for learning and development in a Montessori classroom. Practical life activities are designed to mirror real-life experiences that children will encounter in their daily lives. The Sensorial area of the Montessori classroom is designed to develop children’s skills in perception and discrimination. It includes live music and art. The Language area of the Montessori classroom builds early literacy skills by providing varied opportunities for children to develop communication skills and phonetic awareness. The Math area of the Montessori classroom is characterized by concrete,  hands-on materials that encourage children to recognize numbers and quantity. With adult-led activities, we expand and develop your child's cognitive, social, emotional, communication, fine motor, gross motor, adaptive and sensory skills. The Little Explorer Level 1 program was designed to offer our young students everything they need at their developmental stage in one place. Children all develop at different paces, and they have different strengths and interests.  While in a traditional education every child in the class must follow one path set out by the teacher, a Montessori education follows the individual child's interests using observation. Every activity, including transitions between activities, facilitates exploration as we teach your child to solve problems, understand and use language, explore his or her surroundings, develop hand-eye coordination and increase attention span and memory. We also provide peer play time to encourage social interactions. Likewise, caregivers are invited to participate, ask questions and learn more about childhood early development.

Notes

One parent or caregiver will be staying with their child for this class.

Please have your child wear socks and dress for a mess.

The Class size is small. Each child will have individual supplies. Kids are encouraged to wear masks but don't have to since they don't sit close to each other. The Teacher(s) will be wearing a mask. The temperature and symptoms check will be administered before entering the studio. Parents are not allowed inside the facility, drop-off only. Parents have to take turns to drop-off/pick-up their kids and not to come upstairs if another student or parent at the door. If a student had a contact with a person with a confirmed COVID-19 case the student has to be quarantined for 14 days prior to returning to the studio. If a child within the pod got sick with COVID-19 all parents will be informed and the pod will be moved online for 14 days.

While participating in classes or events held by The Renaissance Child, (“TRC”) “social distancing” must be practiced and face coverings worn at all times by participants 5 years and older to reduce the risks of exposure to COVID-19. We love this class! There are a lot of different activities so the kids are constantly getting something new to focus on. The teachers are wonderful! They engage all of the children. My son wandered off during a craft and the teacher came over to him on the rug to do the activity. Everyone is kind and understanding, the hour flies by! Highly recommend!

Loved:

There were lots of varieties.

Improvements:

I wish each activities could be done longer. Especially my daughter just got rid of fear of the sand, the sand activity was over. I thought it was so soon.
