Class Experience
Access for All (A4A) taps into a young person’s intrinsic passion for dance and empowers them to succeed by providing them with holistic resources that enable them to thrive through their dance education. Access for All subsidizes up to 100% of tuition costs at Urbanity’s School and also provides dance attire, transportation stipends, tickets to professional dance performances at Urbanity and around Boston, and additional support, so that each student may bring their full selves to every class, thereby enabling them to reap the full individual and communal benefits of a dance education.
Student participation in A4A has increased by 235% over a four year period - from 48 registrations in 2020 to 162 in 2024. Now, nearly 40% of all Urbanity students participate in the Access for All program. Over 75% of current A4A students receive full tuition coverage. To support this growth, Urbanity’s financial investment in the program grew from $30,000 to almost $200,000.

Loved:
Haley Day is the MOST phenomenal instructor. She engages will all dancers in such a spectacular way; she provides adequate amount of time to all and strengthen them on their individual levels. Anyone can tell from the very first moment, she is intentional with every minute spent in studio with each person... she loves what she does and that comes thru in a wonderful way. Thank you for all you do Ms. Haley!

I loved how free and structured the class felt, a good happy medium of self expression and the learning of exact movement of the body.
Improvements:
The space was a bit small for the amount of kids in the room but the experience was worth it!
