Oh! Canary is thrilled to host Montclair artist, designer, and author Lotta Jansdotter for a playful evening of exploring the art of stenciling. Lotta will teach you the easy but effective methods for cutting and printing with stencils, and you’ll learn to create your own beautiful designs and patterns - without a complicated setup or expensive tools. With the stencils you create, you'll print a one-of-a-kind set of cotton napkins using non-toxic inks.

Lotta will talk you through her approach, share her technique and a demo to get you started, but most importantly support you to explore, practice and play. This workshop celebrates the process, rather than perfect results, and absolute beginners and seasoned artists are all welcome…no prior skills necessary.

We’ll provide a set of stenciling brushes that are yours to bring home, and you'll also receive a gift from Lotta: a set of five pre-cut stencils in her own designs, so you can continue making at home. Lotta will also share her personal list of resources for materials, supplies and inspiration, with the goal to plant creative seeds and arm you with this useful and fun printing skill.
