SUMMER CAMP 2025 - Week Long Theatre Arts Camp


SUMMER CAMP 2025 - Week Long Theatre Arts Camp

Campers spend the week, improvising dance routines, writing original skits and learning scenes from popular Disney movies and Broadway plays! Each week will focus on a different theme and show: Take a look at the lineup of super fun shows.


Weekly Camp Schedule:

June 16th - 20th - Willy Wonka

June 23rd - 27th - Moana

July 14th - 18th - The Greatest Showman

July 21st - 25th - The Princess and The Frog

August 4th - 8th - Wicked

August 11th - 15th - Annie


Campers will also enjoy free time, arts & crafts, special events, outdoor time in our back patio area and have fun at Columbus Park.


Full Day Camp runs from 8:30am-5:30pm Monday-Friday

Full Week Rate: $250 per student, 10% discount for second child 15% discount for third child


Daily Drop-Ins Available: drop in rate: $55 per day


This camp is appropriate for students in grades K-6

The student showcase is every Friday at 5pm. Family and friends are invited to enjoy!!!


Our classes are appropriate for all experience levels.


Acting/Musical Theatre: Acting classes offer a host of benefits, from emotional expression and adaptability to the sheer joy that comes from performing. If your child wants to try something new and daring this year, consider enrolling them in an Intro to Acting class at Sawubona Creativity Project. Our classes are appropriate for all experience levels.


Improv: Improv involves creating dialogue and actions spontaneously, often without a script. It encourages creativity and quick thinking, making it both a challenging and entertaining art form.

We are located at 1626 E. Passyunk Avenue, Philadelphia PA 19148 (across from Cantina Los Caballitos). We are located next to a parking lot.

Sample Class Format

  • FULL DAY WEEKLY CAMP SCHEDULE


  • 8:30 AM - 9:00 AM Arrivals/Drop-off
  • students may eat their breakfast, color/draw, play games, chat with peers/staff
  • 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM Getting To Know You
  • students will get to know one another by playing improv games 
  • 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Watch/Read Scenes 
  • students will watch scenes from a popular Disney movie or Broadway play
  • students will be cast as various characters
  • students will learn and rehearse scenes and a dance number 
  • 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM lunch (students should pack a full lunch and 2 snacks)
  • 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM
  • free time (at the theatre, outside, at the park)
  • 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM
  • rehearse scenes 
  • make props
  • 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM 
  • free time/pickup


  • *showcase at the end of each week on Friday @5pm.

What To Bring

  • Students will need to bring: 
  • a sweater or sweatshirt (in case it gets chilly)
  • non-slip shoes (no flip flops or sandals please)
  • comfortable clothing they can move in and get a little messy
  • a full lunch and 1-2 snacks (we also keeps extra snacks on hand)
  • a reusable water bottle

Meet your Instructor

Latanya M.

Tanya Morgan is a Philadelphia-based actor, writer, director, and improv performer, acting/improv coach, and trauma informed teaching artist with over 20 years of experience. She owns and operates Sawubona Creativity Project, a community theatre offering improv jams, mindfulness workshops, and classes for kids and teens ages 3-17. As a teaching artist, Tanya blends her performance skills with her mental health to promote mental well-being through the arts. She also leads corporate workshops.
