The Funhouse Commons presents a new after-school club, Technomages! We’ll get hands-on with technology: experimenting with electronics, building bots, coding apps and conducting teardowns in the analogue and digital world. Whether we’re programming a game, creating a gadget, or exploring the wild wonders of AI, we’ll be learning by doing. No experience? Come join the party! If you're curious about how tech works, if you love to tinker, if you want to know why tech does what it does – this club is for you!
Scholarships are available for this program. Please reach out to Sarah Davis (sarahdavis@thefunhouse.org) to get a coupon code to use at checkout.
Instructor: Tycho Pendraig
Tycho has worked over a decade in IT, from help desk support and device repairs to product prototyping and IoT design. A background in mechatronics with a focus on robotics and engineering cybernetics, and an avid belief in free and open access in tech, has inspired Tycho to offer tech workshops and tutoring wherever opportunities arise: at tech conferences such as ToorCamp, in classrooms and makerspaces across the SF Bay Area, and from home.
When not engaged with work, Tycho can be found geeking out over the latest in tech and physics, creating music, baking gluten-free, hiking, volunteering, and enjoying a plethora of teas. Tycho is a member of the Rotary Club for Global Action.
