Kids Ukulele Class: Strum, Sing & Shine!
Get ready to strum, sing, and have a blast in Kids Ukulele Class! In this fun-filled group class, young musicians will learn to play 10 favorite songs on the ukulele while discovering the joy of making music together. Kids will explore ukulele basics like easy chords and simple strumming patterns, build confidence playing with others, and learn to keep rhythm while singing along. By the end, they'll know some amazing songs and feel proud of their musical skills! Uke'nPlay, make friends, and have tons of fun in class!
What you'll learn
- Develop several core ukelele skills
- Basic Ukulele Techniques: Learn essential skills like strumming patterns, chord changes, and finger positioning for smooth transitions between chords.
- Chord Progressions: Build familiarity with common chords and progressions that appear frequently in hymns and other songs.
- Rhythm and Timing: Gain a sense of rhythm and timing to keep a steady pace with others, supporting a more musical and cohesive group performance.
- Ear Training: Improve listening skills for tuning, harmony, and matching pitch, especially useful for playing alongside other singers and musicians.
- Music Reading (Chord Sheets): Learn how to follow chord sheets and recognize patterns, enabling you to play a variety of songs beyond the class.
- Group Playing Dynamics: Understand how to play in a group setting, including when to lead, harmonize, or support others for a fuller sound.
- Confidence and Stage Presence: Develop confidence to play and sing with others, helping to foster joy and expression through music!
- Each of these skills will equip participants to confidently play hymns and continue their musical journey beyond the class.
