Class Experience

The Wild School’s Forest School Program provides an immersive homeschool enrichment experience, combining hands-on learning with nature connection for children ages 5-12. Our distinctive, seasonally-themed curriculum integrates foundational concepts of science, math, art, natural history, and language arts with the natural rhythms of the seasons. Children explore these subjects in meaningful, hands-on ways, fostering a deep understanding of the natural world and their place within it.

Each week, students will:

  • Participate in guided lessons that build skills in wilderness survival, ecology, and creative expression.

  • Develop knowledge in edible and medicinal plants, wildlife tracking, and bird language.

  • Engage in nature study, including plant identification and seasonal observation.

  • Practice bushcraft skills like fire building, shelter construction, and primitive arts.

  • Build tools and craft projects with knife carving and natural materials.

  • Explore mindfulness, reflection, and sensory awareness through nature connection games.

Guided lessons are thoughtfully balanced with ample time for unstructured free play, allowing children to explore, make discoveries, and form personal connections to the world around them. This balance nurtures confidence, problem-solving, and creativity while providing a joyful, immersive learning experience.

The Wild School's Forest School Program is where education meets exploration, inspiring a lifelong love of learning and the natural world. Join us for a journey of discovery, growth, and adventure!
