This exciting one-week summer camp, designed for students in grades 5-8, will take you on an exhilarating journey through the history of musical theater choreography. From the classic, elegant moves of the 1930s to the high-energy, hip-hop inspired steps of today, you'll discover how dance in musical theater has evolved and shaped the stories we love. Each day, you’ll dive into a different era of dance, learning iconic routines from legendary Broadway shows, while also experimenting with contemporary styles. Whether you're a seasoned dancer or just starting out, this camp will help you grow your technique, discover new ways to express yourself, and gain a deeper appreciation for how dance plays a crucial role in telling the stories of musical theater. 

CAMP HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE

Era-Based Dance Exploration: Learn routines from iconic musicals of different decades, including the golden age of Broadway, jazz influences of the 1950s, the 80s and 90s explosion of pop and hip-hop choreography, and today’s innovative musical theater dance styles. 

Choreography & Performance: Put your new skills to the test as you learn short pieces from beloved musicals, culminating in an end-of-week showcase where you’ll perform for friends and family.
