This class is designed to give the beginning watercolorists the basic skills necessary to start their painting journey. We explore basic color theory and experiment with the foundational tricks and methods used to create a wide variety of watercolor paintings. Students will work from still-life arrangements, complete botanical studies, and use photos to create compositions that portray accurate values and form while playing with colors and edges. This class will also discuss abstract/experimental approaches to watercolor. The instructor will give demonstrations and brief lessons, with most of the class spent learning through hands-on experience.
Student's will purchase most of their materials. This class has an additional materials fee for shared studio materials including paper towels, tape, salt, etc.
