Class Experience

Tinker School is the ideal place for young explorers to experience the joy of self-directed learning through curated play invitations, small group activities, literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional skill building all in a unique outdoor setting. See your explorer's full potential bloom each week through leader-led circle and story time, connection with peers, play-based learning, and individualized instruction. Classes include intentional time and space for adults to learn, reflect, and build community.

Class Requirements

  • Explorers younger than the age recommended age range may consider joining for Tinker Tots Wonder Walks as an introduction to Tinker School. 
  • Families with multiple chidren may wish to bring younger siblings along to class and can keep in mind that the learning experience will look different for a young toddler but is equally as valuable. 
  • Explorers attending Tinker School will learn to participate in a leader-led circle time for 15-20 minutes and complete age-appropriate tasks as part of the class routines.

Adult Participation
Required.

Adults should plan to participate in class alongside Explorers as helpful guides. Adults must take responsibility for the behavior and safety of the children in their care at all times. Please review our policies and procedures if you have any questions about these expectations.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made less than 20 minutes prior to class may not be refunded if a waitlist is in effect. 


Please send notice of cancellation 20 minutes prior to class.

Meet your Instructor

Danielle P.

Danielle trained professionally as an elementary school teacher and a teacher for students of other languages (TESOL) with a Masters of Science degree in Elementary Education. She transitioned to staying at home when her first child was born. She became a leader for Tinkergarten, an organization rooted in getting families outdoors together to play and develop critical life skills. Today, she shares the richness of play-based education with more of her community through WE PLAY, WE THRIVE.
