Scramble into hobbit-sized shoes and set off on a "Journey to Middle-earth" this summer! Perfect for pint-sized adventurers (Grades 1-6), this week-long camp whisks explorers into a world inspired by,  "The Hobbit"—full of cozy burrows, sneaky goblins, and treasures galore. In the wilds of Santa Cruz, we’ll craft, create, and play our way through Middle-earth, building our own epic tale step by squishy step—no big stage show needed, just pure imagination and fun!

Each day, students will:

• Dig into hobbit life by crafting goodies like twig walking sticks, pebble “precious” stones, or leafy cloaks to wear while tromping through our Shire of redwood nooks and sandy streams.
• Dream up their own characters—maybe a hobbit who loves seaweed scones, a grumbly dwarf with a driftwood axe, or a riddling creature lurking in the shadows—and bring them to life through playful quests.
• Roam Middle-earth together, turning Santa Cruz into a land of adventure: scampering over “misty mountains” (hills!), hiding from “dragon eyes” in the trees, or sharing stories around a pretend campfire.

This is an immersive experience, no scripts, no sperformance—just a week of hands-on magic where every hobbit-hole and goblin trail is ours to shape. From crafting treasures to giggling through riddle games, we’ll live the hobbit way—barefoot, brave, and ready for a snack (or two)!
