One-on-one private instruction for Spanish learning! Whether you want your child to dive into Spanish for the first time, brush up on where *you* last left off, practice your conversation skills, learn how to more effectively engage your kids in Spanish, or more, Bilingüitos here for you! When you first sign up, your instructor will chat with you about your Spanish language goals and create personalized lessons to help you get there!
Younger students:
One-on-one Spanish Immersion (2.5* - 6 years) ~ TThink about how your child has learned her first language. Has it been through academic classes on how to speak? Of course not! She learns through you and others speaking to her, interacting with her, playing with her, and explaining things to her. In one-on-one immersion, your child will learn Spanish the very same way. We use play-based learning (adapted for Zoom) like games, stories, songs, conversation prompts, and activities, with focused attention on your child.
(Classes for students under 4 are "parent & me" style with the instructor addressing both the child and the parent)
Older students:
Private Spanish Classes for Kids (7 - 13 years) ~ In our private spanish classes, older students learn with one-on-one instruction and attention. We tailor these classes to the level and needs of the student using interactive games, stories, and conversation practice coupled with music, movement, and exciting visuals. Because this age group learns differently than the very young learners, these classes are as immersive as they can be, but English is used when needed to explain certain things, acting as a bridge between the students native language and the target language (Spanish). We focus on conversation and real world usage and our methods are anything but dry!
Adult learners?
Private Spanish Classes for Adult learners (14 - 100 years) ~ Just like in the classes for older students, we create personally tailored lessons to help you reach your Spanish language goals. We list 14+ as adult learners because language learning style changes around this age. Even though Bilingüitos means "little bilinguals", we welcome adult language learners as well! No matter what level you're at, from complete beginner to near fluent, we want to come alongside you and provide the language input and metalinguistic skills you need to learn the language. Whether your aim is to start with the beginner basics, or improve your fluency, or develop your vocabulary for a specific context, we are here to help!
How long are classes? How often should we meet?
We recommend virtual sessions to be 30-40 minutes for optimal engagement, and many families like to schedule two sessions a week to increase input frequency and keep up momentum. When booking, you must book anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks at a time. (Once you're nearing the end of your scheduled classes, we'll reach out to see if you'd like to renew for more!)
Sibling / 2:1 classes?
You can arrange private instruction for siblings (within the same general age range) to do together, or can even schedule it as a charter class for friend groups. Same goes for adult students, you can book a class for a friend group. If you'd like to add more students to your time slot, just send us an email after booking :)

Got bilingual parenting questions? We've got answers! For your 'need-answers-fast' type questions, we're now offering these short consultations to get you the help you're looking for.
Kaila Diaz (M.A.) is a sociolinguist who specializes in childhood bilingualism and family language planning. She has been working with bilingual families since 2016, and doing so even more in-depth after having her own bilingüita in 2019 and going virtual with Bilingüitos shortly after.
So now Kaila is here to answer your bilingual parenting questions in a laid back and low-pressure setting (as if you were chatting over coffee or a drink), but with the professional AND life expertise to back it up!
Feel free to ask questions like:
And anything else that comes to mind as it relates to bilingual parenting, family language planning, raising a bilingual child, etc. If your question goes beyond the scope of our expertise (i.e. atypical language development), we will direct you to the appropriate resources. If your question goes beyond the time constraints of our call, we can book a follow-up call and/or direct you to one of our online workshops or classes, like our signature bilingual parenting digital course.
(PLEASE NOTE, times are listed in ET (Washington D.C. time zone) unless otherwise marked!)
**PS -- This consultation is for parents
FAQs
Should I book a 20-min or 30-min consultation? Are these short time slots really enough time?
Yes! You'd be surprised how much ground we are able to cover in just 20 minutes! The shorter time slots allow us to offer more afforable consult options, and it helps us get right to the point without wasting your valuable time with chit-chat or other fluff. So if you have a simple question where you just want us to give you your next bilingual parenting action step, start with just a 20 minute consult!
If you have a multi-part question OR if more than one caregiver will be on the call, we recommend the 30 minute time slot. (We LOVE having both parents / multiple caregivers on the call, it just tends to make conversations go longer.) But you can always start out with a 20-min call even given these factors, if the day/time works better for you. *CURRENTLY ONLY HAVE 20 MIN TIME SLOTS AVAILABLE*
Do I have to book multiple sessions? Will I be obligated to book a follow up? Can I book a follow up?
No, these are meant to be quick and easy; answers fast whenever you need them. No need to follow up unless you want to. However, if we don't get to all of your questions in the allotted time (though we usually do), we'll invite you book another consult for the following week. And even if we do answer your question in full, we invite you to schedule another "check-in" in a few months or so to update us with your progress and we can determine a new action step! But no obligation whatsoever! We're always offering tons of free info via IG and our podcast so that may be all you need for follow-up for a while.
What's the format of the consult? Do families send in their background information beforehand?
These consultations will be done via Zoom. Please check your confirmation email for details and bookmark the Zoom link for the time of your consultation. And yes, an intake form will also be linked in the confirmaton email so that you can send us your background info and questions beforehand so we can jump right in once the call begins! :)
Should I take notes? Do I need anything else during the consult?
Yes! Take notes however suits you best. We also recommend attending without your cutie pie kiddo nearby, just so you can focus. But also we've done consults with kids on parent's lap, so don't feel bad if that's how you have to attend. We understand #parentlife, for SURE.
Anything else I should know?
Times are listed in ET (Washington D.C. / NYC time zone) unless otherwise marked! We sometimes have consults back-to-back, so if we're a minute late to let you into the call, please forgive us! We'll make sure to add that minute on to the end to give you your full time slot :)
I have soooo many questions. I basically need "Bilingual Parenting 101."
If you have LOTS of questions and want the whole overview of how to start bilingual parenting with intention, we recommend you check out our comprehensive "Bilingual Parenting Game Plan" digital course! Check it out HERE. Everyone who signs up for a consult with us in 2024 will get a promo code for $39 off the digital course (in other words, the price of this consult goes right back to you!).
Tell me more about Kaila's background with childhood bilingualism. :)
Kaila Diaz (M.A.) is a sociolinguist who specializes in childhood bilingualism and family language planning. She holds an bachelor's degree in Linguistics concentrated in language education, and completed her Master's Degree in 2018 also in Linguistics with a concentration in childhood & family bilingualism.
Kaila herself was raised bilingual (English/Spanish) in Northern Virginia since she was ten months old. She was homeschooled for most of her school years, one of the biggest reasons being that her mom wanted her to have Spanish as a big part of her curriculum, and at the time it wasn't available in any of the local schools. The flexibility of homeschooling allowed for intenational travel during Kaila's childhood, where she has distinct memories of being able to put her bilingualism to use! Later in young adulthood, Kaila lived in three different Spanish-speaking countries between the years 2013 and 2016, where she focused on linguistic fieldwork and early childhood language education.
Kaila is now raising two bilingüitos (4 years old & a baby) with her husband Alfredo, a native Spanish speaker from Mexico. Together, they run Bilingüitos full-time.
We can't wait to hear more about YOUR bilingual family! Choose a day/time that works for you and let's get to chatting!
