Class Experience
Are you tired of being house bound with an active baby - a baby who is increasingly interested in the world and people around them? Come join us at Family Picnic to meet other parents (or caregivers) and babies. Share the wonderful changes in your baby as well as the difficulties of having an active baby whether sitting, crawling, or beginning to walk. We will spend this hour talking together, while your babies play with and experience an assortment of toys and materials to stimulate exploration and play.
We'll end with songs and finger plays to share together. Come and have fun with us in the warmth.

The relaxed atmosphere, humor of the host, being free to just talk with the other caregivers and for the babies to play freely, and there being just a little bit of structure, in that, at the end, we all come together for stories/songs. Perfect!
Improvements:
I would prefer no masks, but I know not everyone is comfortable with that.

The class made me feel much more confident in my ability to care for my body before, during, and after birth. Natalia is an excellent educator and very knowledgeable in her field!

Sue runs the class in a magical way that makes everyone feel comfortable, heard and most of all that they belong to a new community. There is so much thought, care and wisdom in each session from the setup to the dialogue. This was an invaluable experience that I would recommend to any new parent.
Improvements:
More sessions than 5!

About Chicago Family Picnic
Picnic offers a comprehensive Childbirth Class, breastfeeding support, and doulas for expectant parents. We then offer high quality groups for new moms, infants and toddlers. Lastly we offer workshops that are pertinent to parents with young children. Ideally, families come to us for prenatal education and then return to us with their infants and then toddlers.
